A Rustic Scottish Wedding at Fort Edmonton Park in Alberta, Canada

Kirk Nielsen (35, an HR Information Systems Specialist) and Ryan Donaghey (a Chief Estimator) knew they wanted a small, intimate wedding. "We were really in love with the idea of having an intimate venue that made us feel cozy and close to the people we invited," Kirk says. The couple held their wedding at Fort Edmonton Park in Alberta. A rustic inspired theme with a color palette of chocolate brown, copper, sage green, taupe and white brought out the natural beauty of their wedding location. Kirk honored his Scottish heritage and wore a kilt he inherited from his Uncle while Ryan honored his Ukrainian heritage with a traditional Ukrainian turkey dinner with cabbage rolls and perogies. "We really wanted our guests to feel comfortable and at home at the wedding," Kirk says.
