A Rustic Restaurant Wedding at Foreign Cinema in San Francisco, California

Helen Berdichevksy (29, a dentist) and Anthony De Francesco (31, a sound engineer) initially met while they were out at a local bar and hit it off, but didn’t see each other again until their paths spontaneously crossed months later. They began to date and established a serious relationship over time, which led up to Anthony proposing to Helen on top of Mt. Tamalpais with an antique engagement ring. The couple had their simple yet whimsical wedding at Foreign Cinema in San Francisco, an indoor-outdoor space that was able to accommodate their 120 guests in a rustic space. Decorations were not a necessity since the building already had dominant concrete, wood, vine and brick elements. Instead of a guest book at the reception, the couple invited guests to take a Polaroid picture of them, write a message on the photo and pin it against a wall covered in vines. Once the day was turning to night, the Foreign Cinema venue turned on a movie of the couples choosing, such as Fred Astaire, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn – to name a few. Engraved wooden coasters were given out as wedding favors to be used as nostalgic decorations in the homes of their guests.
