A Rustic Red Wedding at The Historic Santa Margarita Ranch in Santa Margarita, California
Lori Werderitch (30, lawyer) met Noah Perch-Ahern (30, lawyer) in 2003 at law school in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two dated long-term before Noah popped the question in the first apartment they shared, shortly after moving in together. Noah worked with a local jeweller to create a one-of-a-kind custom engagement ring with a small flour de lis beneath the setting-- a nod to the city where the two met and fell in love. On November 16, 2013 Lori and Noah said 'I-do' at The Historic Santa Margarita Ranch in Santa Margarita, California while surrounded by 120 of their closest friends and family members. The two played along with the iconic red top barn roofs by incorporating pops of red throughout their autumn celebration. With the help of event planners at Love Me Simple, the couple chose each rustic element for their big day with the intention of creating a comfortable setting for their long list of non-local guests. After the two tied the knot on the ranch grounds, the party continued with an outdoor cocktail hour featuring appropriately-hued pomegranate margaritas. In the months leading up to their big day, Lori and Noah traveled to the central coast region for tastings at local wineries ultimately selecting the red, white and sparking wines to be served at their reception. Guests enjoyed local fare including tri-tip and a variation on everyone's favorite macaroni and cheese. Following dinner, guests danced the night away to the sounds of Porterhouse Bob and Down to the Bone, a California-based New Orleans-style funk band. By incorporating plenty of personalized details, like nods to their New Orleans romance and inviting their dogs to take part in the ceremony, Lori and Noah invited every guest into their love story.
