A Rustic Ranch Wedding at Tenroc Ranch in Salado, Texas

Dana Adee (29 and a registered nurse) and Cody Kirkland (27 and an aircraft technician) both love to dance, so it was fitting they met doing what they love. “I could not believe it when this tall, handsome cowboy came up to me and asked me to dance,” says Dana. From then on, the couple spent as much time together as they could. One day after work, Dana had a request from Cody to meet up with him after work. He led her to the lake where he was waiting with two horses saddled up next to his horse trailer. Dana and Cody went for a horse ride through the trees, down by the water, and eventually landed at a picnic Cody had set up in advance with all of Dana’s favorites. When she returned to her saddle, Dana found a letter Cody tied to the horn of her saddle asking her to marry him. The couple both wanted a simple outdoor wedding, so they got married in Salado, Texas at Tenroc Ranch surrounded by huge oak trees, white rock, pebbled walkways, green grass and a small creek running through and underneath the ceremony site. “ The natural setting called for a touch of country class, so burlap, earth toned colors, wooden pieces, colorful flowers and candles decorated the venue. The wedding cake was traditional white with burlap and lace accents, and featured vanilla, vanilla with raspberry and strawberry tiers. “Cody and I are a simple couple—we like just about anything. We wanted our wedding day to be simple, classy and laid-back,” says Dana.
