A Rustic, Purple Wedding at Children's Harbor in Alexander City, Alabama
Through crosses and angel accents, Destini Curtis (23) and Jeremiah Curtis (17) turned their love for religion into the inspiration for their intimate wedding. “Our life is centered on our faith, so we wanted our wedding to display that,” Destini says. They even fulfilled her dream of getting married in a little white church. Two rustic, wooden barrels accented with baby’s breath and purple metal crosses marked the head of the aisle, while a large wooden cross stood between them. Her brother and father, both ministers, presided over the ceremony while Destini and Jeremiah shared personal vows. “It was extremely special, filled with emotion and quite a lot of tears,” Destini says. Their reception at Children's Harbor in Alexander City, Alabama, carried on the religious motif with a palette of gold (to represent purity), ivory and purple (Destini's favorite hue). Angel statuettes decorated the tables on gold servers. The chair sashes, lace linens, glasses and wedding favors were also covered in shades of purple. Our favorite part was the three-tier ivory wedding cake that tied it all together with pearl detailing, rosettes and a purple banner topper.
