A Rustic Pink Wedding at Wiens Ranch in Sedalia, Colorado

“My friends and I have always joked about the line from ‘Steel Magnolias': Julia Roberts's character is describing her wedding colors as ‘blush and bashful,’ when her mom, [played by] Sally Field, jumps in saying, ‘Her colors are pink and pink.’ I ran with that idea for our wedding with the desire to create a feminine and rustic theme,” Jillian Stanfield (24 and a speech-language pathologist) says of her wedding to Michael Goldstein (24 and a seminary student and videographer). The couple met at Christian camp after Jillian rapped for the talent show and Michael approached her saying, “I'm gonna make a music video, and you're gonna be my thug queen.” For their wedding, Jillian and Michael wanted to reflect their fun-loving personalities. Wedding planner and florist Isabelle Kline Designs ensured all the details came together to bring their romantic theme to life. She also created the stunning peony, rose and eucalyptus floral arrangements that added an overgrown garden feel throughout the decor. Wanting a venue that was naturally beautiful without a lot of extra spangle, they chose Wiens Ranch in Sedalia, Colorado. “We were searching for a barn wedding, and Wiens Ranch was the perfect match, twinkly lights and all,” Jillian says. “Our ceremony was outside in an open field with foothills in the background. I've imagined an outdoor ceremony since my sister got married with an outdoor ceremony in the mountains. What better place to begin a marriage and soak in God's glory than his creation?” There are so many details we love—see them all, gorgeously captured by Leah McEachern Photography, below.

Each bridesmaid picked her own blush dresses for the wedding. They carried different varieties of roses, garden roses, peonies and seeded eucalyptus bouquets. Jillian and Michael loved how all the details came together with the rustic venue and pink color palette.
Vintage-Inspired Pink Wedding Shoes
Jillian’s junior bridesmaid wore a blush dress to match the rest of the bridesmaids and even carried a blush rose and seeded eucalyptus bouquet. The flower girl wore a white dress and carried a turquoise pale. Both girls wore flower crowns to match Jillian’s look.
Michael proposed in Estes Park, Colorado, under mistletoe and a crystal chandelier. He read highlights of their past four years together and gave Jillian an Epic Adventure scrapbook with a bucket list complete with “get married.” He proposed with a yellow gold ring with a round-cut diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds reminiscent of a flower. “I love the antique, feminine, delicacy,” Jillian says. “And it is just so sparkly.”
“My biggest dress must-have was that it must have movement, the fabric had to flow,” Jillian says. “I love the uniqueness and fun of the dress. Through the whole process, I knew I wanted to wear a flower crown.”

Rustic Wooden-Walled Reception Space
Jillian and Michael decorated their reception space with lush green garlands, seeded eucalyptus, roses, astilbes and taper candles. We love the garden-inspired details that added a little romance to the string-lighted space.
The reception tables were topped with seeded eucalyptus, lush green leaves and blush roses. Jillian’s mother made the chalkboard-inspired black-and-white tables numbers.
Jillian’s mother helped create many of the day's details, including the burlap flatware holders. They were decorated with lace flowers and little pearls in the center.
Jillian and Michael served serval different desserts including a German chocolate cake, a yellow buttercream cake and a pink wedding cake. Two cakes were topped with bunting that said “love.” The third cake was topped with roses to match the bouquets.
“At the end of the night, each guest took home a jar of homemade cinnamon sugar to remind them of their love and support in our new marriage,” Jillian says. “Once cinnamon and sugar are mixed together, it will never be separated."
