A Rustic Outdoor Wedding With a Vintage Twist at Gorman Heritage Farm in Cincinnati, Ohio

Gorgeous surrounding gardens and natural rustic elements at Gorman Heritage Farm in Cincinnati, Ohio, won this couple over for their outdoor wedding with a touch of vintage. “Besides the gardens and white tent, we liked the farm because they were involved with community outreach programs and farmers markets,” Angela Corbett (23 and a writing consultant) says of her marriage to Matthew Fay (26 and a marketing manager). “I was inspired by the outdoor setting to do a rustic look, which was combined with a 'granny chic' kind of style that I have." The venue naturally embodied a rustic vibe with wooden accents and open farmland, while much of the vintage feel came from the couple’s wedding-day attire, captured by Carly Short Photography. Angela wore an ivory wedding dress accented with lace on the bodice, which trailed partially down the skirt from Mia Bella Couture, and had a cream-colored belt accented with fabric flowers tied around her waist. Matthew wore a charcoal gray vest-and-pants combination with a striped gray tie, and a pageboy hat that brought out the vintage feel. Angela walked down the aisle at the outdoor garden ceremony, which was lined with hanging mason jars filled with colorful wildflowers and wrapped with birch. At the tented reception that followed, guests were seated at tables decorated with similar arrangements to the ones that lined the aisle. After a meal of beef with burgundy sauce, baked mahi mahi with pesto and garlic-roasted mashed potatoes, our favorite part of the meal was served. We always have a sight for sweets, and this white wedding cake accented with peach cake flowers was no exception—not to mention the delicious cream-cheese frosting and raspberry filling. "Drink wine, eat cake and don't let anything get in the way of being happy and enjoying your wedding," Angela says.
