Morgan Veldhuizen (24, a U.S. Marine Corps pilot) and Michael Frazer (29, a U.S. Marine Corps public affairs officer) were connected through a mutual friend while they were both attending separate colleges. After they talked over the phone for about two months, Morgan drove to Texas to meet Michael for the first time, and their relationship was official by the end of her visit. The couple were dating over a year when they decided to travel to Illinois for Morgan’s annual family pig roast. During their visit, Morgan and Michael went to downtown Chicago to have a nice dinner and see the fireworks. The couple went for a walk around Millennium Park afterwards, where Michael got down on one knee and proposed to Morgan. The wedding ceremony took place in the Immaculata Church at the University of San Diego. Morgan walked down the aisle wearing an ivory lace wedding dress with a full skirt, purchased from House of Brides. She carried a pink and ivory bouquet of garden roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, succulents and baby’s breath arranged by Flowers By Hilary down the aisle. Following the ceremony was the reception at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego, California, where the couple’s rustic themed wedding was brought to life. A pink and ivory color palette accented the wedding day decor, from the mason jars and vases filled with coral and ivory flower centerpieces on slabs of wood to the pink garden roses on top of  the ivory wedding cake, which resembled the rustic design of a birch tree.

The custom-made wedding invitations were white with accents of brown cardboard material.
The bride wore a strapless ivory wedding dress with a puffy skirt. "I found a dress that gave me the poof but had a slightly dropped waist so I didn't look too short," says Morgan. "It was all lace and had a bit of a sweetheart neckline."
Morgan posed in her ivory strapless wedding dress and veil. She held a ivory and coral bouquet of garden roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, succulents and baby's breath.
Michael wore a single pink garden rose with a succulent as his boutonniere, which was pinned to his tan jacket.

A tall vase wrapped in burlap string was filled with baby's breath and had a small chalkboard sign with the table number. Next to it was a painted mason jar filled with coral garden roses, hydrangeas and baby's breath. Both flower arrangements were positioned on top of a wooden slab.

Reception tables were dressed in ivory linens and had mason jars filled with jellybeans at each seat.
A board sat on top two wooden barrels and created a structure to have the S'mores station at. A paper flag sign was hung on the front that read "S'Mores Love."
The ivory wedding cake had a design that resembled bark on a tree, with the couple's initials carved into the front. Coral garden roses and baby's breath accented the top of the wedding cake. "The element of our day that best reflected us as a couple is when we were cutting the cake," says Morgan. "Michael of course smushed the cake in my face. I took my piece, stepped back, and pitched the cake like a baseball played right into the middle of his face. It was the funniest thing!"
