A Rustic Outdoor Wedding at Red Rock Lodges in New Brunswick, Canada

Erin Coburn (36, Customs Broker) and Michael Goedmakers (37, Operations Supervisor) met in high school and were together for nineteen years before they got married! As an outdoorsy couple who spends their summers camping, fishing and hiking, they wanted their wedding to reflect their love of nature. They also wanted to find a location that allowed their adorable dog Drake to be part of their day! The couple found the perfect wedding location at Red Rock Lodges in Miramichi, New Brunswick. A color palette of chocolate brown, sage green and yellow helped bring out the natural, rustic elegance of their wedding day. One of the biggest motifs of the wedding was the gorgeous sunflowers incorporated into the bouquets, centerpieces and flower girl baskets. "They are such a happy flower and I really wanted them to be part of our day," Erin says. After a reception dinner cooked entirely by Erin's father, the wedding party lit paper lotus lanterns and let them float down the river, and then spent the rest of the night celebrating around a large bonfire. "Getting married outside by the water with our dog really reflected who were are best," Erin recalls.
