A Rustic, Outdoor Wedding at Butterfield Pavilion in Valparaiso, Indiana

Kelly Torp (30 and a teacher) and Ryan Bruxvoort (27 and an assistant dispatcher) met while running on the same racing team. They both were participating in a race in southern Illinois where the team was spending the weekend. It wasn't long before Ryan asked Kelly on a date. Only six months later, they were engaged! Ryan and Kelly were planning to attend a Green Bay Packers football game on a Monday and were going to get pizza together the Friday before. Ryan told Kelly he had a six month anniversary present for her and handed her a box. Inside, Kelly found a Green Bay Packer's jersey and when she turned it around, she saw that it said Ryan's last name on the back. Suddenly, Ryan was down on one knee in front of Kelly. They chose to get married at the Ogden Gardens in Valparaiso, IN and had their reception at the nearby Butterfield Pavilion. "We wanted to find a place that was inexpensive and somewhere where we didn't have to commit to a package deal," Kelly says. Kelly's mother made the table signs, her mother's friends created the flower arrangements and her cousin played the ceremony music. Ryan and Kelly say that they have many talented friends and wanted to use their talents for a lot of the wedding. "Our wedding style was casual with an outdoor, rustic, vintage feel," Kelly says. Their colors were peach and navy that paired nicely with the wildflower arrangements. It was important to Kelly and Ryan that their wedding reflected them as a couple so they were sure to continue their rustic, outdoor theme throughout the day.
