A Rustic, Mountain Wedding at the Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire

For their wedding, Courtney Wray (30 and a registered nurse) and Jeff Wray (30 and a director of operations) planned a rustic, outdoor affair in New Hampshire’s Waterville Valley. The area not only offered beautiful mountain views and a serene setting in which to host the wedding, but there were plenty of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy over the entire weekend, including hiking, golf, mountain biking, tennis and chairlift rides. “Everything, including our rehearsal dinner, was located within walking distance of all of the hotels where our guests were staying, so no one had to worry about driving anywhere after celebrating with us,” says Courtney. Playing off the summer season, the couple opted for a playful pink and mint color palette with plenty of natural elements incorporated into the mix that spoke to the wedding’s locale. The day started off with an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the Waterville Valley Resort, the majestic mountains and lush woodland landscape creating a breathtaking backdrop for the affair. After the couple said their “I do’s,” they headed to the resort’s Speakeasy lounge for cocktails and appetizers with their family and friends, before kicking the celebration into high gear under an airy reception tent decked out with whimsical birch trees and twinkling lights. Hand-painted Mason jar arrangements of fresh summer blooms, tree slices and chalkboard table numbers introduced a bright, organic touch to the expansive space. To ensure their families and friends had as much fun as possible throughout the evening, Courtney and Jeff invited guests to try their hand at lawn games like corn hole and Kan Jam or hit up the photo booth when they needed a break from dancing to DJ Big Daddy’s set list of upbeat jams. A tip for the taking from Courtney: “You need a videographer and photographer! The day you’ve been planning is going to go by in a split second and they will be able to capture all of the moments you may have missed. I am beyond thrilled that we had an amazing photographer, Colleen MacRamos and videographer, Rachel Globe, to capture all of our special moments, especially all of the little details I worked so hard on.”
