A Rustic Mountain Wedding at The Secret Stash Pizzeria in Crested Butte, Colorado
With their love of mountain biking and the outdoors, Dawn Wieker (31 and a teacher) and Bill Cooper’s (29 and a design coordinator) fall mountain wedding was completely reflective of them. “One of the best memories Bill and I share was when we emerged on the trail through the woods to find our friends and family lining the trail with their bikes, cheering for us,” Dawn says. “The ceremony had long since ended, we had been taking photos for quite a while and the sun was setting, and they had been waiting this whole time for us. We all rode our bikes down Kebler Pass road and into Crested Butte. It was a dream come true. We paraded down the town’s main street, stopping traffic; they didn’t seem to mind and instead cheered and honked for us.” The couple had their ceremony in a grassy meadow called the Woods Walk just above Crested Butte, Colorado, because they loved the breathtaking views of the city and the yellow aspen trees during the fall. Everyone rode bikes downtown to the Secret Stash, a local pizzeria, for the reception. “Our reception location was never a question,” Dawn says. “It is by far our favorite place in Crested Butte to eat, and is ornately decorated with bright colors, eclectic items and a lively atmosphere. It fits our style perfectly.” Event planner Stephanie Prater from Princess Productions worked with the couple to bring their vision to life, and Trent and Danica Bona from Sweet Tea Studios beautifully captured all the details. One of the best parts was the ultra-local flowers from Zephryos Farm and Garden. “On our way to the wedding, we stopped by the farm and picked the flowers we wanted, which had been picked only hours before we arrived,” Dawn says. “We left with four five-gallon bucketfuls of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. Cutting and arranging the bouquets and centerpieces with the bridal party and family members the following morning was a really fun and memorable part of the weekend.”
