A Rustic Mountain Wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, Colorado

Tara Mickelburgh (36 and works in nonprofit management) and Jason Rowe (41 and a geospatial market strategist) met online. Four years later, Jason proposed during a family vacation at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Tara and Jason both love the mountains and live in Colorado, so a rustic mountain wedding was a perfect fit. They exchanged vows in the middle of the forest in the Rockies because they loved the lost-in-the-woods feel and the natural, stone stage. Afterwards, they went inside Della Terra Mountain Chateau for a simple reception. They loved the tall vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and string lighting throughout the ballroom, and kept the decorations to a minimum so the venue could speak for itself. Wanting to add a little romance to the natural, rustic decor, they used bold shades of purple for the color palette. Tara and Jason worked with Lace And Lilies to create all of the floral arrangements including the bohemian flower crowns for the flower girls, the tall leafy centerpieces and lush plum bouquets. Cocktail hour was full of local microbrews and wines from Ft. Collins, Colorado, (where the couple lives) for an ultra-local touch. At the end of the night, Tara and Jason enjoyed a three-tier rustic, textured white buttercream cake accented with purple flowers to match the floral arrangements.
