A Rustic Mountain Wedding at a Private Residence in Tincup, Colorado

Gracie Coburn (25 and works in commercial real estate acquisition) and Carey Willette (28 and a hedge fund analyst) met at the University of Colorado

Gracie Coburn (25 and works in commercial real estate acquisition) and Carey Willette (28 and a hedge fund analyst) met at the University of Colorado (the same place Gracie’s parents and grandparents met!), and Carey proposed while they were backpacking the Lost Coast in Northern California. For their wedding, the couple exchanged vows at Tincup Town Hall, which was the same place Gracie’s parents got married 30 years before. Not only did Gracie and Carey love the sentimental significance of the venue, they loved the historical value of the 110-year-old building as well. At the beginning of the ceremony, Gracie’s little brother sang “Home” by Philip Phillips, which brought everyone to tears. After the couple was pronounced husband and wife, they drove off in the Jeep Gracie learned to drive in. “I loved driving to the church with my dad and driving away with Carey after the ceremony in the little Jeep,” Gracie says. “I grew up driving around Tincup in that Jeep, in fact I learned to drive in it. So the symbolism of my dad giving me away to Carey to start a new adventure was so beautiful.” They went to their tented reception in the backyard of Gracie’s family’s cabin that was built by her great grandfather. Wanting a rustic mountain wedding with feminine and romantic touches, the couple used a navy, blush and ivory color palette with antler, wine bottle and burlap accents. Guests enjoyed the couple’s favorite drink, the Ranch Cocktail with tequila and orange juice, for cocktail hour before dinner. At the end of the night the couple cut a gold and blush ombre wedding cake filled with salted caramel and even had a classic sparkler exit. “Have fun at your wedding,” Gracie says. “Kiss your husband, eat carbs, drink tequila, dance to every song and just revel in the unending love saturating the room."

The groomsmen wore textured navy Jos A. Banks suits with black and white checkered shirts and blue ties.
Gracie wore a Pnina Tornai wedding dress from Kelinfeld while she was in New York City with her mom and sister. “I wanted something feminine and sexy that still fit the sweet and rugged simplicity of the cabin setting,” Gracie says.
The bridesmaids wore floor-length navy Joanna August dresses with long gold necklaces and nude heels.
Gracie and Carey exchanged vows in the historic Tincup Town Hall, which was established in 1903 and served the early miners of Tincup. Now, it hosts the ghost town's weekly square dance every Friday night. “We all remain terrible at square dancing, but experts at enjoying ourselves,” Gracie says. More importantly, it’s where Gracie’s parents exchanged vows 30 years before.

Gracie and Carey added vintage details throughout their wedding such as the Coca-Cola cooler that was used for the champagne.

Instead of traditional chargers, the couple printed their engagement photos onto round place mats for each place setting.
“Each table had white and light pink flower arrangements in white vases complemented by deer antlers which my dad has collected over the years, and the table numbers were printed on wine labels which were put on to red wine which my husband made over our engagement,” Gracie says.
