A Rustic Mint Wedding at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina

With a soft, romantic mint and blush color palette, Anna Frank (25 and a physician assistant) and Mikel Lewis (26 and an officer in the US Navy) had a gorgeous shabby-chic wedding. Not only did they set the tone for the day early with their custom invitation suite, but they used the stationery from Merrymint Designs to inspire the rest of the details. “I had a difficult time narrowing down my final color choices, but I knew I loved the look of soft minty greens,” Anna says. “Then I found my wedding invitations, which were designed by twin sisters living in Charleston. They featured a mint and gold scallop design. They had just the vintage feel I was looking for, and they helped solidify my color palette.” Florist Bird's Nest created lush floral arrangements that perfectly matched the color palette and added pops of soft blush throughout the decor. We love the cascading green leaf, white lily, blush scabiosa and green hydrangea garlands that they draped over the wedding arbor. Wanting a venue that would suit the romantic color palette and garden-inspired flowers, Anna and Mikel chose Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina. They loved its perfect mix of traditional and rustic, as well as its outdoor space for their October date. The best part, though, was the delicious Charleston menu including crab cakes and fish tacos catered by the venue. Wanting to add a little sweetness for dessert, they had a candy bar for the wedding favors, which also included ultra-local mini bottles of Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka that is distilled in Charleston.
