A Rustic, Lakeside Wedding at a Private Residence in Meredith, New Hampshire

Alissa McClellan (32, a radiation therapist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital) and Greg Fischer (31, a finance manager for EMD Millipore) met for the first time at a friend's Halloween party. "I had just arrived and went to grab myself a drink on the back deck, and for some reason I thought the screen door was open. It was not!" recalls Alissa. "I walked smack into it and knocked it off it's hinges, right in front of an incredibly handsome guy who turned out to be Greg!" Amused, Greg struck up a conversation with her that ended with dinner plans. "I guess he was attracted to the fact that I could laugh at myself," she says. On Christmas three years later, Greg proposed on a dock overlooking Squam Lake at the house where Alissa's family has been vacationing for 30 years—the spot where they celebrated their wedding nearly two years later. "It’s safe to say that I had always dreamed of being married there," admits Alissa. Her dream came true in the form of a waterside wedding that seamlessly blended rustic and elegant elements, like burlap and feminine shades of blush. Every detail—from their boat exit to Alissa's eco-conscious gown—reflected the vibe of the scenic New England setting they love so much.
