A Rustic, Intimate Wedding at Piedmont Park Conservancy in Atlanta, Georgia

Karissa Fleming (24 and an attorney) and Logan Blyth (26 and a computer programmer) first met as undergraduates at Georgia Tech, when Logan knocked on Karissa's door to ask her out on a date. Three and a half years later, Logan had a much more pressing question to propose: “He asked me to marry him in front of the very same building where we met,” Karissa says. It came as no surprise then, when the pair chose a collegiate-inspired color palette of cobalt blue and yellow to bring their spring soiree to life. “The design served as a small homage to our alma mater, plus the color really suited the both of us,” Karissa says. Handmade details included DIY arrangements made of faux blooms—a feat that required the help of the bride’s sister, mother and grandmother. “All of the flower arrangements turned out beautifully and were a huge cost saver," Karissa says. "Plus, we got the chance to keep the flowers afterward to enjoy all of the hard work we put in." Other personal touches included DIY cornhole boards and handmade paper flags that guests waved during the newlyweds grand exit from their reception at Magnolia Hall. But each of those accents couldn’t compare to Karissa’s favorite detail of the evening: “We ordered custom figurines off of Etsy for our cake,” she says of their personalized cake toppers. “They were my favorite, since we had them made to match our wedding attire."--Jennifer Leahy
