A Rustic Hill Country Wedding at Bella Springs Events in Boerne, Texas

Courtney Attebery (25 and a project manager) and Andrew Colson (25 and a construction manager) had a Hill Country wedding that reflected who they are in every way. “We enjoy the outdoors and are proud Texans, and we thought it was important to capture that,” Courtney says. Their planner, Haute Weddings, helped them coordinate the decor and details of the day. They loved the sharp contrast of dark-stained wood paired with a soft, neutral palette of champagne, blush and gold, with a personal touch of Texas A&M maroon to pack a little punch (just in case there was any doubt about their Aggie pride). According to Courtney, the theme truly represented she and Andrew as a couple: “It was a little bit rustic with a little bit of glamour, but classy and elegant all the way around.” Their wedding unfolded at Bella Springs Events in Boerne, Texas, starting with an outdoor ceremony under the gazebo with their beloved dogs on hand to stand beside them as they said “I do.” Later, their reception brought guests over a bridge into the venue’s large limestone building with wood walls, hardwood floors and a staircase for their grand entrance, enhanced with flowers and greenery by De Vinnie’s Paradise Florist. Texas-themed refreshments and catering were a top priority: The bar was stocked with Texas wines, local beer and even their own signature cocktails (including a habanero margarita). By a special request from Courtney, dinner included a fresh Texas peach salad and a macaroni and cheese bar. To top it all, Andrew’s groom’s cake was a gorgeous rendition of the Aggie ring, and he and Courtney made their grand exit to their guests waving 12th Man flags. "My obsession with flowers was evident in my request for as many flowers as possible," Courtney says. Her beautiful bouquet included ivory peonies, ivory and blush spray roses and greenery, including eucalyptus. Andrew's boutonniere—a pair of roses—matched the soft neutral florals.
Situated atop a hill overlooking a full creek, the outdoor ceremony gazebo at Bella Springs Events in Boerne, Texas, is surrounded by live oaks and rolling hills. "The trees, the creek, the animals and the wide-open spaces were exactly the kind of place we'd always dreamed of getting married," Courtney says.
Courtney and Andrew's dogs are everything to them, so there was no way they'd be left out of the wedding. "I think our dogs help bring out our best selves, just as Andrew brings out mine and I bring out his," Courtney says. This adorable pup wore a floral collar that matched the bridesmaid bouquets—it had champagne and blush spray roses, maroon dahlias and greenery.
Courtney's three bridesmaids wore long dresses from the Dessy Collection in shades of blush and champagne, with matching Kendra Scott earrings and bracelets. They styled their hair in soft, low side buns and wore neutral makeup.
Rustic wooden doors draped with greens and flowers created a dramatic grand entrance into the ceremony site at Bella Springs Events in Boerne, Texas. Overhead, a wooden sign said "Welcome to our love story" in white cursive. As guests walked out of the ceremony, they could see the back of the sign that said, in true Texas Aggie form, "Whoop!"
Leading up to the wooden gazebo ceremony spot were white folding chairs with custom wooden signs inscribed with white calligraphy that said "reserved." Blush and ivory rose petals lined the limestone aisle pathway.
To tie the rustic venue together with elegant touches, white fabric was draped through the wooden gazebo rafters and fell along the sides. A large floral arrangement decorated the center, accented by a gold chandelier, which hung above Courtney and Andrew as they recited their vows.
Courtney and Andrew's guests showered them in flower petals as they walked up the aisle as newlyweds. Andrew picked the upbeat song, James Taylor's live version of "How Sweet It Is," since it coordinated with the rustic, country feel of their outdoor ceremony.
Courtney and Andrew wanted to play off the natural beauty and rustic features of Bella Springs Events, so they commissioned several wooden signs. The signs were stained a rich, dark brown color and rubbed with gold for a glam touch. White calligraphy and florals added a whimsical feel.
Vintage-style windowpanes displayed the seating chart for Courtney and Andrew's 150 guests, continuing the rustic theme at their reception.
A 12-foot neutral and maroon floral table runner decorating the rectangular head table was the most eye-catching floral detail in the rustic Bella Springs Events reception hall. Scattered gold mercury glass votive candles added a soft glow over the glass chargers with gold bead edges.
Glass chargers with gold bead edges and gold flatware sat at each place setting, along with a thank-you note from Courtney and Andrew to each of their guests.
Champagne-colored table linens fit the rustic interior of the Bella Springs Events reception hall, while wooden folding chairs tied in the wooden walls and floors. A combination of round tables and a rectangular head table surrounded the dance floor in the center of the room.
Andrew built and stained DIY wooden flower boxes, which sat on champagne linens. The floral centerpieces contained champagne and blush spray roses with ivory hydrangeas and maroon dahlias and peonies. Script table numbers and gold glass votive candles added an elegant touch.
Courtney and Andrew hosted their reception indoors for the rustic feel of the limestone and wood building at Bella Springs Events in Boerne, Texas. Tulle and string lights hung in the rafters, and a trio of chandeliers added glam to the room. "It was a great blank canvas for us," Courtney says. "It had the foundation that we wanted and we knew we'd be able to make it our own."
Andrew made the DIY square cake stand for an impressive four-tier wedding cake. It had four flavor combinations with ivory buttercream decorating each tier—smooth, rosettes, textured and Swiss dots with the newlyweds' custom monogram. Ivory, blush and maroon flowers added a romantic touch.
Talk about bling! In case there was any question about Courtney and Andrew's love for Texas A&M, the groom's cake was a replica of the Aggie ring. Cakes and More created the confection, covered in metallic gold fondant.
Courtney and Andrew entered the rustic reception hall down a staircase lined with candles, greenery and small bouquets. They shared their first dance on the hardwood dance floor under fabric-draped rafters, surrounded by rectangular and round dining tables.
Courtney wore a lightly curled half-up hairstyle. Her makeup artist, Chairish the Day, created a neutral bridal makeup look with added drama around her eyes.
