A Rustic Green Wedding at a Private Residence in Cuba, New York

Bold, bright green decorated Megan Freeman (31 and a store owner) and Nick Freeman’s (29 and a salesman) wedding in everything from the attire to the guest book to the candy bar. The bridesmaids wore the greenest dresses from designer Jill Sawatzky’s Tony Chestnut line. “I love green,” Megan says. “I wanted the greenest I could find for the dresses, and I did!” Megan, on the other hand, wore a simple white Principessa gown from J. Crew, which was the only dress she even looked at for her wedding. The couple chose Nick’s family’s cabin in Cuba, New York, for their wedding because it was not only gorgeous, it also held a lot of memories for Nick growing up. They used pieces from the home as decor for the special day, too, such as a claw foot tub as the drink cooler, vintage Pepsi crates as the escort card display and Nick’s grandmother’s rocking chair as a little seating area. The morning of the wedding, Megan and her bridesmaids woke up and picked wildflowers from the property to use as the floral arrangements. One of the best parts was the vintage birdcage lighting that hung over the reception tables (which the couple did themselves)! There are so many more pretty details to see and Nicole Taylor Photography captured all of them below. A tip from Megan: “I would recommend doing everything that you possibly can yourself. Not only does it help with the budget, but it's so rewarding in the end.”
