A Rustic Farm Wedding at Diamonds and Dust in Logansport, Indiana
When Olivia Cook (23 and a dental assistant) met Luke Champion (24 and a CNC machinist) at a bowling alley five years ago, the 18-year-olds immediately clicked. "He asked me out and we spent about two hours just talking in the movie theatre parking lot," Olivia explains. "It all came so easy, like we were already best friends." Five years later, Luke set off a fireworks display to proclaim his love for the bride-to-be. "I went outside to get a good look and turned around to find him down on one knee," Olivia says. Growing up in rural Indiana, the bride and groom settled on a joint ceremony and reception venue that incorporated a rustic landscape with natural, homegrown details. "When I first saw Diamonds and Dust, I immediately knew that I wanted to get married outside in one of those open fields," Olivia explains. "We both just wanted a wedding that would capture the natural beauty of Indiana's open country." Armed with a color palette of orange, cream and baby blue, the newlyweds incorporated sweet homemade touches throughout the rustic barn space, including a light-up marquee sign and mismatched antique chairs. Dressed in a lace wedding dress (complete with cowboy boots!), the bride and her groom exchanged vows in a sprawling green field before celebrating inside under a moss-covered, antique chandelier. The couple's 250 guests were then treated to a home-cooked, country meal that included homemade apple butter canned by the bride herself. "The whole wedding reflected our personalities perfectly," Olivia says. "To make our guests feel special, we had them write down their definition of love on a piece of fabric during the reception. Someday, I plan on turning all of it into a quilt."
