A Rustic Farm Wedding at a Private Residence in Aurora, Nebraska
Samantha Gowen (25 and an elementary teacher) and Lance Thorell (25 and a farmer) picked a rustic, shabby-chic theme for their wedding, something the couple felt would be easy to pull off since they live in rural Nebraska. The two held their wedding in Samantha's hometown of Aurora, Nebraska -- she was inspired to choose the location after her sisters got married in their current hometowns and because her parents had always wanted a wedding at home. A color palette of pink, blush, tan and taupe added a light, airy feel to the rustic theme. For the reception decor, Samantha collected special pieces from Junk Jaunts, yard sales and secondhand stores to make the centerpieces. "Each centerpiece on every table was unique [and] different," Samantha says. One of the standout details of the wedding was the couple's personal style. Samantha wore a fitted lace gown with an illusion top, a style she'd dreamed about for a long time. She accessorized her dress with a pearl beaded belt with rhinestones; a hand-sewn lace, pearl and rhinestone comb from Percy Handmade; large, round stud pearl-and-diamond earrings; a ring from her 18th birthday (as her something old); and a pearl bracelet from her husband. To complement her style, the bridesmaids donned blush, floor-length dresses with an illusion neckline and large stud earrings with a pink pearl and diamond. Lance added his own personal style to the formalwear with tan tuxes and cowboy boots to fit the rustic vibe of the wedding. Check out all the gorgeous details photographed by T.
