A Rustic, Fall Wedding at Twickenham House in Jefferson, North Carolina
From the leaves thrown by their flower girl to the pumpkin accents on each table, everything about Amber Dietz (27 and in sales) and Travis Dietz’s (27 and a aircraft technician) rustic neutral and blue wedding felt like fall. Joyelan.com documented the day, which began with a simple outdoor ceremony lined with hay and ended in a fun indoor reception. Despite someone putting their flowers in a deep freezer the night before the wedding, Amber and Travis were still able to add a personal touch to their day with wholesale local flowers from Shady Grove Gardens. Amber, her bridal party and the women in her family helped to design each bouquet, boutonniere and accent. Fresh cotton in clear-glass vases were placed alongside low centerpieces of white daisies, yellow gerber daisies and stock flowers at the reception. For Amber’s bouquet, the group designed a bright arrangement of daisies, chrysanthemums, peonies, greenery and wildflowers. Another impressive detail was Amber’s ball gown. After looking through about five stores, the team at Minerva’s Bridal helped her find an eye-catching strapless dress with a classic lace overlay and sweetheart neckline. “As soon as I tried on the Mary’s Bridal gown, it felt like it was made for me,” she says. “I finally got the ‘this is the dress’ feeling everyone kept telling me about.” Amber, Travis and their guests, spent their wedding night dancing in the estate to a DJ from Nathan Wilkins DJ Service. “The DJ made the wedding,” Amber says. “He has so many great ways to get everyone involved. Even though we had some severe weather that rolled in, he took it with stride and kept everyone and everything rolling smoothly.”
