A Rustic, Elegant Wedding at Owl's Hoot Barn in West Coxsackie, New York

Lisa Laczynski (31 and in marketing) and Tom Laczynski (33 and in sales) met at work where they casually greeted each other until Tom finally asked Lisa to have a drink with him. About two weeks later, Tom took Lisa to a New York Knicks game where he kissed her in front of Madison Square Garden. After work one day in June, Lisa and Tom had dinner reservations in downtown Manhattan when Tom suggested they take a walk on the scenic High Line first. There he had a photographer following them capturing every moment when he proposed. The newly engaged couple then headed to their dinner reservations where both of their families were waiting to celebrate with them. They decided to have their wedding at Owl's Hoot Barn in West Coxsackie, New York where they could create their unique wedding style. "Even though the venue is rustic," Lisa says, "I still wanted the decor to be elegant and not completely rustic looking." The indoor barn reception was decorated with white tables and light pink and white floral centerpieces. "I let the beautiful barn shine and kept the flowers and decoration very minimal," Lisa says. To show the natural beauty of the barn and to add a romantic touch, the tables each had four votive candles on them while the barn was lined with mason jars filled with floating candles. After the reception, Lisa and Tom held and after party right outside of the barn where guests enjoyed a bonfire and a food truck. "Overall the laid back vibe with an elegant style best reflected us," Lisa says. With their rustic barn setting, Lisa and Tom were able to create the perfect combination of rustic meets elegance.
