A Rustic, Elegant Wedding at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minnesota

“Planning my own wedding was a dream come true!” Hannah Anderson (24 and a marketing account executive) says about her wedding to Johnny Meeker (25 and a tax staff accountant). The couple got married at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, where Hannah’s dream of her longtime violin teacher playing meaningful ceremony music came true. A reception at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minnesota, followed, which provided a rustic atmosphere full of organic elements such as succulents, moss, greens and mismatched vintage furniture illuminated by lanterns, string lights and chandeliers for a touch of elegance. “Growing up, my mom owned an antique furniture store, so I developed an appreciation for everything old, rustic, beautiful and textured,” the bride says. The color palette welcomed every shade of blue and soft, natural hues, which were reflected in the wedding party, flowers and decor. The couple made sure to incorporate their shared passion for alpine skiing into their wedding day to make the theme more personal. “The sport is near and dear to our hearts and one of our most favorite things to do together. We wanted to give everyone a taste of our passion,” says the bride. There were pictures all around the reception of Hannah and Johnny skiing, and at the end of the cocktail hour, guests received “ski maps” to lead them to their tables, which were named after ski resorts. Each table had a cow bell, the traditional cheering item for ski racing, which guests could ring to make the newlyweds kiss!
