A Rustic DIY Wedding at the Natural Retreats' Homestead Preserve in Warm Springs, Virginia

Just 500 days after their blind date, Blair Wissinger and Bryan Rothamel married at the Natural Retreats' Homestead Preserve in bucolic Warm Springs, Virginia. The couple brought their barn wedding to life with rustic and DIY decor like mismatched vases, painted signs, votives candles and table runners sewed by Blair's mother. “The venue was gorgeous, so we didn’t have to decorate much for the ceremony except for some shepherd’s hooks and hydrangeas along the aisle,” Blair says of their outdoor ceremony, which took place on the lawn in front of the Old Dairy barn. After the couple’s ceremony, friends and family enjoyed a low-key cocktail hour with drinks and lawn games. “We are simple people, so we went for a simple affair,” the bride says. The couple served barbecue for dinner with yummy sides like mac and cheese and creamed corn. Embracing her love of dessert, Blair had a “Treat Yo Self” bar with a variety of sweet treats for guests to nibble on. “We had a small cake for us to cut, but we had three type of cupcakes and some other great treats that my friends and family baked as well,” she says. —Marissa Hermanson
