A Rustic, DIY Wedding at Great Hall at Green Lake in Seattle, Washington
Rebecca Wilson met Joon Chang at a social dancing event with her neighbors at Century Ballroom in Seattle, Washington, where Joon spotted Rebecca from across the room and asked her to dance. She agreed, and by the end of the night, Joon promised Rebecca dance lessons. They exchanged numbers to stay in touch and eventually began dating. The two took a trip to New York to visit Joon's family, which was the first time Rebecca had been to the Big Apple. On a walk through Central Park, Rebecca saw something silver in Joon’s hand and thought he was carrying around his car keys. As Rebecca told him to put them away, Joon showed her a diamond ring instead and proposed. Their rustic, elegant wedding with several DIY elements was held at the historic Great Hall at Green Lake in Seattle, Washington. For the ceremony, lights were strung above rows of wood folding chairs, and a wedding arch made of branches was set up at the front. The room was transformed for the reception with wood dining tables decorated with plant centerpieces and table numbers on slabs of wood. Attendees found their brown escort tags pinned to string on a wood frame and signed the DIY guest book with a tree design on the front. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, a variety of cupcakes were served on the dessert table, one of which was covered on a stand and saved for the couple.
