A Rustic DIY Wedding at Cherry Barc Farm in Vermontville, Michigan
Pamela Werbish (32 and a pharmacist) and Donald Eichholz (33 and a pharmacist) met on their first day of school and quickly became friends. While Pamela admits that she fell in love with Don first, it was not long before Don found himself smitten as well. Oddly enough, Don ended up proposing to Pamela unintentionally. He had bought a ring and decided to keep it hidden in his truck for a couple of days, but, unfortunately, his truck was broken into and the ring was stolen. Don was naturally upset and admitted to Pamela that the thief had taken the ring he was going to propose with. Luckily, a pawn shop called soon after to say they had the stolen ring. With such a dramatic event surrounding it, they decided to return the ring for a new one. The couple chose to have their wedding at the Cherry Barc Farm in Vermontville, Michigan, where they could have the laid-back atmosphere they desired. "I would describe the theme of our wedding as rustic yet refined," Pamela says. They wanted to create their wedding in a way that they could spend little money without it looking like they compromised their style. Pamela wanted a wooden arch for the entrance of the ceremony aisle and, with help from his father, Don was able to create just what she was looking for. "That was one of my favorite moments of our wedding day," she says, "getting to see the arch he made for me." Pamela bought mason jars for the centerpieces and decorated them with burlap and lace with hydrangea arrangements. Instead of a traditional guest book, the pair gave their guests cards where they could answer questions about them using flower pens Pamela created to match the decor. Pamela truly thought out every detail of the wedding, making sure her and Don's style shined through. "We are a pretty easygoing couple," she says. "We wanted a low-key family get-together feeling for the day."
