A Rustic, Cuisine Inspired Wedding at Dock580 in Downtown Columbus, Ohio

Allison Grieves (26 and a chef) and Darren Grieves (30 and a chef) worked together in the kitchen at Third and Hollywood in Grandview, Ohio. Darren hired Allison, so they worked directly with each other and over time developed a professional friendship. Allison decided to make a career move and took a job at another restaurant, but she maintained a relationship with Darren that grew into a romantic connection. Darren asked Allison to take a walk with him around Scioto River and presented her with a box that had a vinyl designer toy inside that she collected. However, when she opened the box, she found an engagement ring instead! The couple had their wedding at Dock580 that had an outdoor courtyard, located at The Smith Brothers Warehouse in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The couple wanted to incorporate their love of food and share it with guests by having a culinary themed wedding. Dining table centerpieces were made up of herbs and green apples in stainless steel pots, and artichoke shells were used as candleholders. Place settings had customized stamps on a butcher chart and luggage tables to help the caterers know what each guest ordered. In addition to the petite gluten free wedding cake, the couple chose an array of freshly baked pastries, ranging from cream puffs to tiramisu and tartlets.
