A Rustic Country Wedding at Stone Oak Ranch in Murchison, Texas

Stone Oak Ranch is the definition of shabby chic in east Texas: The rustic wooden reception barn, dressed up with crystal chandeliers and string lights, were perfect for the country wedding Megan Mitchell (24 and a nursing student) and Hayden Mitchell (24 and a civil engineer) envisioned. Their ceremony unfolded outdoors at the rustic wooden pergola, which the florists at La Tee Da draped with lush flowers and flower-filled lanterns to enhance the romantic vibe. Later, the celebration moved into the barn, which Event & Company styled with rustic decor paired with a spring-inspired palette of pink, mint and turquoise. Megan and Hayden, true Texans, incorporated lots of details to show their state pride, including Tex-Mex cuisine (think tacos and enchiladas) paired with margaritas. They even received a Texas-inspired gift from Megan’s mother: a historical marker with their wedding date. Megan’s favorite part? In addition to cornhole and lawn games, Megan and Hayden had a mechanical bull at their reception. “I love bull riding, and we love to go to rodeos so we just had to have a mechanical bull,” Megan says. “It was so much fun to watch our friends and family ride—and fall off—the bull.” See the details, captured by Photography by Gema, below.
