A Rustic, Country Wedding at Pine River Ranch in Leavenworth, Washington
With six cabin suites, a historic barn and 22 acres of farmland, Kexshera McCorkle (24 and a barista) and Kirk Vaughn (superintendent of a construction company) had plenty to work with for their rustic, country wedding at Pine River Ranch in Leavenworth, Washington. "The venue was both rustic and romantic, and because Kirk loves the mountains, horses and hunting, a location in the mountains was perfect," Kexshera says. Instead of a color palette, burlap and chalkboards served as the main decorative elements throughout the indoor-outdoor space—from the burlap wrapped around the bouquet stems to the "Love is Sweet, Have a Treat" chalkboard sign displayed on the dessert table. The bridesmaids held bouquets of fern leaves and bright yellow sunflowers, while Kexshera's bridal bouquet had hydrangeas and roses added to the mix. Speaking of sunflowers, Lynette Smith Photography captured them popping up everywhere. Bunches of sunflowers arranged inside mason jars served as centerpieces, hoisted up by wooden slabs with table numbers propped up against them. They even appeared on the ivory ruffled wedding cake that we felt embodied the rustic vibe as a whole, topped with wooden bird figurines and wrapped with burlap around each layer.
