A Rustic Country Wedding at Granby Ranch in Granby, Colorado

Carly Gralak (27 and works in sales) and Marc Wennogle (31 and an engineer) met through mutual friends. After dating for six years, Marc proposed on top of Winter Park resort. They decided to exchange vows at Granby Ranch in Granby, Colorado. “The location is smack dab in between our favorite ski resort and our favorite backpacking spot,” Carly says. “The great thing about this venue is that the ceremony site just screams Rocky Mountains. We knew our guests would be excited to travel to Colorado for this wedding and that the event itself would be an adventure.” They wanted a perfectly simple wedding. “I just wanted this to be the day I marry my best friend,” Carly says. “Not worry about the details.” They completed their simple country look with cowboy boot decor, ski lift entrances and wildflower-inspired bouquets. She relied on her florist, The Ruffly Rose, to do all the work when she wasn’t sure of what to do about the floral arrangements. They used anemones, scabiosa pods, hydrangeas and roses throughout the wedding. Carly’s parents wanted to contribute, too, so her parents made lovebirds for the cake topper. Although the day ran smoothly, there was one surprise during the reception. “I was a cheerleader in college, so my friends decided to throw me into a stunt in my wedding dress,” Carly says. “It was a fun memory even though Marc was worried.”
