A Rustic Country Wedding at a Private Residence in Fredonia, Kansas

Home is where the heart is for Brandi Tharp (30 and a veterinarian) and Adam Houdashelt (32 and a production supervisor), who tied the knot in a pasture behind their Fredonia residence. "We wanted a country setting with a relaxed atmosphere," Brandi says of outfitting their home with wood, wildflowers, lace and burlap. Guests looked on from church pews as the couple braided a unity rope in front of a bespoke altar made from recycled tin—just one of the dozens of repurposed details that made their day truly unique. Brandi and her maid of honor carried keepsake brooch bouquets made from vintage pins. Family-owned vintage quilts, wood slice centerpieces and whimsical flower-filled mason jars were scattered throughout the pastoral space. In lieu of a traditional cake, the newlyweds cut into a pineapple upside-down cake before serving s'mores, champagne and pink lemonade to partygoers.
