A Rustic, Colorful Fall Wedding at Castle Hill Cider in Keswick, Virginia
Bridget Fitzgerald (28 and a nurse) and Kevin Kelly (30 and a lawyer) outfitted their cidery venue with fall florals, rustic accents and romantic lighting. “We knew we wanted our wedding to be in Charlottesville because it’s a meaningful place for both of us,” Bridget says. It’s where they met and where Kevin popped the question. Rainy weather created a natural backdrop for their last-minute decision to move the ceremony indoors to a rustic wood loft. “We got married with the barn doors open overlooking the grounds of the cidery, and our guests tell us that the sky was gorgeous,” she says. “But I was too busy looking at Kevin to notice.” Bridget embraced a “fall rainbow” color scheme with blooms in red, orange and yellow in her bouquet. “My mom has been collecting stamps for a long time, so she picked out personalized ones for each guest’s invite,” Bridget says. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres and a cheese table before heading to dinner and dancing with a live band. “They were absolutely amazing,” Bridget says. To honor her father’s request for hot dogs with “all the fixings,” the couple had a cart on hand for snacks throughout the evening.
