A Rustic Chic Wedding with Coastal Flair at the Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine

Kat Rice (28 and a first-grade teacher) and Marshall Wallach (28 and an MBA student) combined Maine’s innate coastal elegance and country charm to bring their rustic-chic theme to life.

To play up the venue’s intimate rural setting, the couple filled the day with romantic, garden-inspired florals, wood accents and a color palette of blue, gold and green. The ceremony took place in a secluded clearing in the woods, where Kat and Marshall exchanged vows under a birch arch adorned with yellow blooms and cascading greenery.

Floral flourishes and playful calligraphy-inspired lettering lent a whimsical, old-world feel to the couple’s invitation suite. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds and their guests celebrated on Flanagan Farm’s expansive lawn with signature blueberry Moscow Mules, live music and fresh local seafood.

The reception unfolded under a vast open-air sailcloth tent, a nod to the wedding’s coastal locale. Brightly lit carriage lanterns cast a warm glow over the exposed wood farm tables, while bundles of loosely arranged florals in vintage glass vases popped against the backdrop of lush greenery.
