A Rustic Chic Wedding at White Star Farm in London, Ohio

Katie Renner (28 and a surgery resident) and Jeff Kelly (30 and a healthcare consultant) met at Ohio State University through mutual friends. Right after Katie's medical residency landed them in Washington D.C., the couple spent a fun, romantic evening touring the city stopping for drinks, dinner and delicious desserts. To cap off the evening the two decided to take a stroll by the Tidal Basin. It was there on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, that Jeff reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring, got on his knee and asked Katie to be his wife. From the beginning of the planning process, Jeff and Katie knew they wanted to host their nuptials in a barn as a nod to Katie's grandfather who had recently passed away. Katie had many memories at her grandfather's farm, but because the couple was unable to host the event there, White Star Farm in London, OH was the next best thing. Not only was the venue right across town from her grandfather's farm, the acres of perfectly preserved farm land and a quaint red barn offered a beautiful, natural backdrop for Katie and Jeff's rustic chic affair. The couple chose a soft, romantic color palette of peach, rose and ivory, which translated into lush arrangements of full blooms. Wood accents, burlap and vintage crates played up the wedding's rustic, country vibe, while original pieces from Katie's grandfather's barn added a sentimental touch.
