A Rustic, Chic Wedding at Private Residence in Brandywine, Maryland
Following a family tradition, Jennifer Marson (26 and a human resources business partner) and Jonathan Marson (26 and a landscape manager) had their wedding on Jon's parents' farm in Brandywine, Maryland, where they could customize their own rustic, chic wedding. "We really wanted to incorporate that genuine rustic feel," Jennifer says. The wedding-day photographer, Amber Flynn Photography, captured every beautiful moment from the outdoor ceremony with stone and wooden accents to the large tented reception with brightly colored decor. When it came to her wedding dress, Jennifer knew she wanted the dress's style to encompass the rustic and elegant wedding styles. She fell in love with a La Sposa strapless wedding dress with a mermaid style and beaded belt. Jennifer also wanted her wedding look to be traditional, so she opted for a beautiful cathedral veil. "I fell in love with a Justin Alexander lace cathedral veil and it added the formal aspect that I wanted," she says. Jennifer and Jon's rustic, chic wedding style was a combination of their own personal styles. "Because Jon and I were together for such a long time -- 10 years before we said 'I do' -- I really wanted the day to be all about us and to blend our tastes," Jennifer says. The wedding's florist, Free Spirit Floral, created pretty pink arrangements with roses, peonies and hydrangeas. Colorful pom-poms and paper lanterns hung over the reception, where centerpieces included pink roses and white hydrangeas in vintage-style vases. In the end, Jennifer and Jon think it's important for future brides and grooms to really take time out of their wedding day and enjoy their moments. "It goes by so quickly and it is important to admire all the hard work, long nights and love that you both have put into your day," Jennifer says. "Remember, everyone is there to celebrate your love story."
