A Rustic-Chic Wedding at Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth, Washington
Wooden details and a natural setting mixed with a soft palette and elegant decor made this rustic-chic nuptial come to life. "The Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth, Washington, felt rustic, but I decided to go for rustic luxe," Alexa Travis (28 and an interior designer assistant) says of her marriage to Paul Hancock (26 and a UPS supervisor). We added gold accents, mercury glass vases and votive candles to glam it up a bit." Not to mention Alexa's and the bridesmaids' chic attire. While Alexa wore a strapless Maggie Sottero dress with a lace overlay and sweetheart neckline, her bridesmaids wore blush floral knee-length dresses from Anthropologie with their choice of gold jewelry. Alexa entered the open fields where the ceremony took place by horse and carriage, and then stood with Paul at the wooden branch altar surrounded by open fields. At the tented reception, guests filled up with an abundant amount of popcorn and jelly beans on other sweets at the snack bar, then indulged in the two-tier white wedding cake accented with flowers—our favorite treat of the night. A tip from Alexa: "Always plan for incidentals the week of the wedding. It seemed like there were a lot of last-minute things that we didn't budget for."
