A Rustic Chic, Waterfront Wedding in Osterville, Massachusetts

When Jacqui D’Angelo (28 and a senior sales manager) moved to South Boston with her girlfriends, she never expected that it would lead to a walk down the aisle. Greg Smith (30 and a regional sales manager) happened to be moving out of that very same apartment and his good friends continued to live in the unit upstairs, meaning he visited frequently. “One day he was sitting on his friends’ porch when I arrived home after a work golf outing,” says Jacqui. “I pulled out my golf clubs to bring inside and it was love at first sight. Little did Greg know that I am actually terrible at golf.” Three years later, Greg proposed on Egypt Beach in Scituate, MA. “It is a very special place for us because it is where we would often go to unwind after work with a bonfire, bottle of wine and our Olde English Bulldog named Harry,” says Jacqui. “We then spent a relaxing weekend together at the By the Sea Bed and Breakfast in Plymouth.” Jacqui and Greg looked to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to hold their early summer nuptials, wanting a waterfront location with stunning views of the ocean and a quintessential New England feel. A traditional ceremony at Christ the King in Mashpee kicked off the day, with Jacqui’s cousin, a priest at St. Patrick’s Church in Manhattan officiating. A fleet of trolleys then whisked the newlyweds and their guests off to the Nauticus Marina for a swinging seaside reception. Drawing on the locale for inspiration, the couple chose a color palette of white, champagne, soft green, blue and pops of purple. Long wooden tables dressed with blue table runners, centerpieces with ample greenery and antiqued silver details set a rustic chic tone for the decor. Touches like framed chalkboard signs and fresh sprigs of lavender were incorporated throughout, adding a decorative touch that was anything but fussy. An anchor motif and a menu showcasing the area’s specialty — seafood — played up the quaint setting. After dinner, the couple got guests out on the dance floor with a live 10-piece band, Joey Scott and The Connection.
