A Rustic Camp Wedding at Krislund Camp & Conference Center in Centre County, Pennsylvania

Meryl and Tim Miller wed in the woods of Pennsylvania at Krislund Camp & Conference Center—a summer camp the bride attended for 13 years. “My grandfather was one of the original purchasers of the land, and my mom and aunt helped build some of the main camp buildings. It’s a really special place for our family,” Meryl says.  The couple named the weekend “Camp Wannamarryoo.” The witty moniker showed up in various wedding details, including the rustic stationery suite that Meryl, a graphic designer, made. The bride also created other paper elements like custom maps and recipe cards. “Instead of menus, we gave everyone recipes of the dishes we served so they could make them at home as well,” she says. The ceremony took place in the woods, and the natural setting was accented with string lights. The rustic aesthetic continued at the reception with paper lanterns, taper candles, floral runners and wood table numbers shaped like animals. “We ate pie, we laughed and we danced the night away with our favorite people in the world, in my favorite place on earth. It was definitely the best day ever!” the bride says.

Our favorite #MakeTradition Moment: “We had all of our guests take photos of themselves with an instant camera and then write something beneath their photo,” Meryl says. “I found a beautiful album that had little pockets to hold them.”
