A Rustic California-Inspired Wedding at Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado, California
Bethany Gaffney (32 and works in human resources) and Chris Kinerson (33 and works in real estate management) met online at Chemistry.com. Chris had recently moved to Orange County for work and Bethany had recently moved back to the West Coast from New York City after being away for four years. The pair immediately hit it off after just one phone call and became inseparable after just one date. "We realized how much we had in common and after a year and a half of dating Chris proposed on the beach during the most gorgeous sunset!" says Bethany. When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple envisioned a rustic affair in one of Central California's esteemed wineries, but they quickly became aware of the steep costs associated with a destination wedding for both them and their guests. Bethany and Chris decided to switch gears and focused on finding another location that still embodied California, but was different than the beach. Chris found Rancho Las Lomas online and they were instantly smitten. The lush gardens, stately Spanish architecture and tranquil location was exactly what they were looking for. The couple designed their theme around the historic Orange County venue, incorporating an orange motif into the day, a nod to the orange trees scattered around the property. A blue, orange and green color palette was chosen for the decor and all of the day's stationery, plus the wedding invitations themselves, were inspired by an old orange crate label.
