A Rustic Boho Vow Renewal at Bear Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado
After meeting and quickly falling in love in San Diego, California, Nicole Pape (29 and an artist) and Justin Pape (34 and a home builder) eloped in the San Diego courthouse. Several years, two beautiful baby boys and a move to Colorado later, Justin proposed again to renew their vows and celebrate with their friends and family. Wanting the weekend to feel like a real getaway, Nicole and Justin chose Bear Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado, a private mountain home, for their nuptials—they loved being able to put up their 25 guests for the weekend. Inspired by their love for the Rocky Mountains, the couple filled their day with rustic details such as the wood-engraved invitations (perfect for being eco-friendly and celebrating their five-year anniversary with their vow renewals), antler reception decor and unfinished wood round cake stand. We love the subtle bohemian flair such as Nicole’s stunning garden rose and hypericum flower crown that she made herself using flowers from Fifty Flowers online. “We wanted to be mindful and repurpose rather than buy new,” she says of all the DIY details. Our favorite part? Nicole’s stunning hand-crocheted sheath wedding dress. “I wanted a crocheted dress since my grandmother could not be there,” Nicole says. “My entire life she has impressed me with crochet, and I have always admired her work and have loved the craft.” Emma O Clothing in Sweden made the dress and shipped it to Nicole before the wedding. There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Jackie Cooper Photo, below.
