A Rustic, Bohemian Wedding at Reinstein Ranch in Livermore, California
Julie Rea (26 and an accounting professional) and Stephen Palmier (22 and in the US Air Force) chose Reinstein Ranch in Livermore, California, for their rustic, bohemian-inspired autumn wedding. “We had one visit to the ranch and signed the contract the same day,” says Julie, who was drawn to the property’s 200-year old barn and pastoral scenery. “The surrounding hills with horses and cattle grazing was exactly what Stephen and I had in mind. It was the perfect canvas, with incredible natural beauty and country charm, for us to paint our vision.” Julie and Stephen stuck to a neutral palette, focusing on soft greens, ivory and tan with pops of plum. “I was inspired by our shared love of country living—natural beauty, western elements and romantic touches,” Julie says. After an outdoor ceremony overlooking the pastoral grounds, the newlyweds and their 90 guests played lawn games and grabbed drinks from a retro-chic Airstream bar car before moving into the draft barn for a cozy barbecue dinner. Silver horseshoe favors were situated at each place setting. “It was important that our wedding felt like a direct reflection of our interests and personalities,” Julie says. At the end of the day, the couple rode off into the sunset, with Stephen behind the wheel of a 1969 Ford Ranger. —Carolyn Meers
