A Rustic Black-Tie Wedding at Blue Hill Farm at Stone Barns in Tarrytown, New York
Jessica Spitzer maintains a city vibe, while Stephen Lobosco prefers rustic style. The pair combined the two aesthetics into a modern, rustic, black-tie wedding at Blue Hill Farm at Stone Barns. “Jessica had seen an article in The New York Times years ago about the venue, before even meeting Stephen, and dreamed of this spot for her wedding,” the couple says. “We wanted our day to be a perfect mix of the two of us—relaxed but detailed, elegant but filled with natural beauty.” The day began with a traditional Jewish ketubah signing and an outdoor ceremony. Jessica and Stephen relied on the venue’s natural beauty for decoration, and they added some white and pink flower arrangements. Guests then attended a cocktail hour and sit-down dinner inside the modern-rustic barn. Jessica and Stephen’s impeccable outfits stole the show. The bride wore a V-neck, raffia-embroidered jumpsuit with a tulle overlay skirt, while Stephen donned a navy tuxedo that matched the wedding party’s outfits. To end the night, the chuppah was transformed into a bar that was flanked with comfortable white couches and a cigar station.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: “Stephen surprised everyone by having a pair of black camouflage slippers with the words of his late grandfather—’I DO DO DO’—hand-painted on the bottom,” the couple says. “After we were married, he kicked up his feet to show Jessica and the crowd. It was a highlight we’ll hold onto forever!”
