A Rustic Barn Wedding in Houghton, Michigan
Jordanna Kero (25 and a business analyst) and Greg Pedersen (26 and a metabolic specialist) used quirky decorative details such as vintage books, antique bird cages and delicate floral details to create a wedding that was equal parts rustic and romantic. The secluded wood barn and rolling green hills set the scene for the couple’s late-summer vows, which Jordanna planned herself. “I have such a passion for planning, so being able to create the wedding of our dreams was an amazing experience,” she says. Metal bird cages lined the alfresco aisle and hung from tree branches high above the couple as they exchanged vows. “I wanted the focal point of our ceremony to be the tree,” Jordanna says. Greg sported cuff links engraved with the words “I Love You More.” At the reception, clusters of blush garden, spray roses and verdant garlands of seeded eucalyptus filled centerpieces. Colored glassware, vintage china, gold chargers and blush-hued candleholders topped reception tables, where guests found their seats with the help of laser-cut wood place cards and cut into a sweet stacked confection of carrot and German chocolate cake.
