A Rustic Barn Wedding at The Wright Farm in Roopville, Georgia

Susan Standifer (27 and a sixth grade ELA teacher) and Chase Davis (37 and an eighth grade history teacher) grew up in neighboring towns, but they only met after college when they both accepted jobs at the same middle school. They dated on and off for a few months, both hesitant to date a coworker, but they got together again at the end of the school year, spending as much time together as possible over the summer, and knew that they were both interested in pursuing a more serious relationship. Chase proposed just eight months later in the end of January on Silverado Bridge in the middle of a snowstorm. Sharing a love of the outdoors, Susan and Chase got married under an oak tree on The Wright Farm in Roopville, Georgia with a rustic reception inside the venue's barn. Susan wore a strapless Maggie Sottero wedding dress in a trumpet silhouette with a lace-edged veil and diamond and pearl earrings that Chase gave to her as a wedding present. The bridesmaids wore long purple dresses, and the groomsmen matched in purple ties and gray vests with their own pair of brown boots. In order to save some money and include a few personal elements to the decor, most of the reception tables featured accents from the bride's parents' house. Centerpieces included arrangements of baby's breath with branches and purple and orange roses in galvanized containers or glass vases. The southern menu consisted of pork and chicken with green beans, macaroni and cheese, and roasted red potatoes before a dessert selection of baseball-themed cupcakes and a classic buttercream wedding cake. "Chase and I both enjoy the little things in life and grid to bring those out in our wedding ceremony and reception," Susan says.
