A Rustic Barn Wedding at The Skinner Barn in Waitsfield, Vermont

Lindsay Ucci (30 and a software engineer) and Dan Ritzenthaler (33 and a digital product designer) transformed their rustic barn wedding at The Skinner Barn in Waitsfield, Vermont, into an orange wonderland. With sunflowers, orange roses, ranunculus and dahlias, the ceremony and reception barn brought to life a bright and relaxed atmosphere for their guests. Being brunch people, the couple tied the knot in the early morning and then enjoyed a Sunday spread with their friends and family afterward. "We had a full breakfast buffet with omelettes, waffles, fresh fruit, sausage and bacon. We also had a specialty coffee station with a barista making espresso drinks and crepe station outside," says Lindsay. There were creative and personal DIY elements throughout the wedding. Lindsay made the wedding invitations while creating a newspaper-inspired stationery for each place setting with comic strips and crosswords. Lindsay and Dan brought books from their personal shelves at home, putting their own touch into the centerpieces. With an intense love of travel, the couple had packages of their favorite coffee beans shipped from Costa Rica as the wedding favors and escort cards. "We also had beer from a brewery we visited in Germany, and crepes made to order for our guests like we had in France," says Lindsay. The day of their wedding was all about comfort for Lindsay and Dan. They even wore orange flip-flops! "We tried to keep it light, fun and full of our favorite things," says Lindsay. "It was so fun to share some of the special things we've experienced with our closest friends and family."
