A Rustic Barn Wedding at Santa Margarita Ranch in Santa Margarita, California

Kimberly Guthrie (27, a registered nurse) and Brett Thompson (28, a handyman) met through a mutual friend around the holidays one year, and Brett remembered that Kimberly said she had never seen their local neighborhood Christmas light display before. Brett invited Kimberly to go see the light display for their first date bringing some hot cocoa and cookies for the trip and ending the night with a fireworks show. However, the sparks didn’t stop there, and their relationship quickly grew. Four years later on Christmas morning, Brett surprised Kimberly with a ring, and started to plan their wedding. The couple had their wedding at Santa Margarita Ranch in California, where the landscape was decorated with oak trees and had a rustic barn where the reception would take place. Their wedding invitations had peach and gold toned peonies designed on the stationary, which reflected the flowers present at the actual wedding. Mini terracotta pots painted black with a succulent had each guest’s name written in white served as both a placeholder and party favor. Old screen windows were used to create a backdrop for guests to take pictures in front of to add to the couple’s guest book, creating memorabilia that would last a lifetime.
