A Rustic Barn Wedding at Cross Creek Ranch in Dover, Florida

Ariel Chantachote (25 and an anesthetist) and Rishi Agarwal (31 and an anesthesiologist) celebrated their cultures with an Indian-American, Thai and Singaporean affair enhanced by earthy tones and gold accents. “Our style is very organic and down to earth,” Ariel says. “We wanted to complement an already beautiful area instead of trying to make the area look beautiful. Candles, lights and greenery were integral elements to our wedding.” The pair exchanged vows outdoors under an old oak tree with a hand-crafted wood cross that was fabricated by a local carpenter serving as their backdrop. Ariel wore an ivory tulle ball gown for the ceremony, then changed into a gold-embroidered lehenga for the evening’s festivities. A pastoral barn branded with serif initials housed guest tables and a bar. A hardwood board balanced on barrels held a selection of doughnuts, cupcakes and a naked vanilla wedding cake. “We wanted everyone to be comfortable socializing and enjoying food and drinks in a casual barn setting,” Ariel says. “Our guests were dressed in both Indian and American attire, so it was truly a beautiful thing to see our family and friends of all ages and ethnicities dance together in a barn in Florida!” Since many of the guests eat vegetarian, the menu included eggplant parmesan and a medley of vegetables. The couple sat down to dinner at a sweetheart table set with gold plates and leafy garland. After the feast, guests joined the newlyweds on the dance floor, where a DJ spun everything from ’90s Bollywood to Justin Bieber and NSYNC.
