A Rustic Barn Wedding at Butterfly Kisses Pavilion in Newport, North Carolina

Lauren Fitzgerald (25 and a certified surgical technician) thought Matthew Parlor (26 and a water plant operator) was pretty cute when they first met at a pizza parlor. Eight years later Matthew proposed to Lauren on the beach while digging for seashells. When it came time to start planning their rustic wedding, Lauren knew one thing for sure: she wanted a barn wedding! The couple invited guests to celebrate at Butterfly Kisses Pavilion in Newport, North Carolina. Lauren stunned in a fitted strapless gown with a white rose bouquet and popped against vivid blue bridesmaid dresses. "I wanted a sweet heart neckline, form fitting and a matte fabric something that wasn't shiny," says Lauren. "That look is exactly what I found in my Allure Bridals dress—it even had a beautiful bubbly train!" The outdoor ceremony took place under a pergola, overlooking a lake, and was decorated with old buckets filled with baby's breath lining the cobblestone aisle. A gray and blue color palette decorated the barn reception while burlap linen and baby's breath arrangements enhanced the rustic theme. Guests sipped on firefly vodka lemonade from Mason jars before enjoying a seated dinner and elaborate dessert table. "Burlap was my inspiration for everything—I wanted the day to be simple but timeless," says Lauren.
