A Rustic Barn Wedding at Buie Barn in Brunswick, GA
It was thanks to Jennifer Moye’s (23 and a paralegal) mother’s high school reunion that she and Brian Gonzalez (28 and works in automotives) got together. Jennifer and Brian’s parents went to high school together and when their 25th high school class reunion rolled around, Jennifer decided to accompany her mother to the festivities. At the end of the night, they went to an after party at Brian’s parents house, where Jennifer ended up meeting Brian’s sister Brooke. The two became fast friends and every time Jennifer was in the area, she would go and visit Brooke. It was on one of these visits that she met Brian. The two had an instant connection and things quickly blossomed from there. When Brian decided to propose, he took Jennifer to Saint Simons Lighthouse. Jennifer loved lighthouses, but had never seen one, so Brian thought the occasion would be the ideal moment to to propose. “Unfortunately, he neglected to tell me he was terrified of heights,” says Jennifer. “As we climbed to the top of the lighthouse, I rushed to edge of the rail to see the view and when I turned around to look for Brian, he was standing in the doorway, holding onto the wall for dear life.” After some coaxing, Jennifer was able to ply Brian away from the wall and it was then that he got down on one knee, still holding onto the wall, and asked Jennifer to marry him. The couple packed their wedding at Buie Barn in Brunswick, GA with lots of rustic, vintage touches and details that spoke to their southern locale. Antique furniture was used as themed décor throughout the day and upcycled windows were used to create a sweet shabby chic backdrop for the cake table. A unique chandelier, decked out in fairy lights and fluffy white Georgia cotton was a show stopping detail that captured the essence of the day.
